This newly created position will serve as an advisor to the Senior Vice President and CFO to plan, implement, and lead the finance units and strategic initiatives for the division. The Senior Associate Vice President for Finance will manage the core financial departments including the Comptroller Office, Office of the Treasurer, and Procurement, and will provide senior level expertise and support to the CFO ’s leadership team. This critical position carries a high degree of visibility and requires independent judgement, close collaboration with the CFO ’s leadership team, Board of Trustees and University leadership as directed. Reviews and analyzes financial information to support executive-level decision making, conducts in-depth examinations to identify financial opportunities and solicits input from relevant stakeholders. The Senior Associate Vice President for Finance will work closely with the Senior Vice President and CFO to assist in establishing goals, ensure that current goals are aligned to meet the Academic Strategic Plan and the financial structure is in place to support strategic financial priorities. Broadly support the SVP and CFO and other senior leaders in Board of Trustee activities.
Qualifications
MBA, CPA or other advanced credentials and a minimum of eight (8) years of related strategic financial management experience.
Previous experience in a Higher Education environment preferred.
Financial analysis (modeling) skills to create, manage, and oversee various financial documents, such as balance sheets and income statements.
The ability to forecast, plan, and overcome financial problems.
Analytical skills to assess numerous financial aspects, conduct research to gain insights into the market, and oversee transactions and processes, and identify any errors or discrepancies that affect the organization.
Leadership and operational experience, including translating strategic imperatives into actionable plans.

Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the University’s financial team consisting of the Comptroller, Treasurer, and Procurement.
Collaborate with financial teams on analyzing and reporting financial performance, planning investments, analyzing market trends, managing cash flow and transactions, and managing assets and endowments.
Serve as advisor to the Senior Vice President and CFO in planning, implementing, and monitoring strategic financial initiatives and projects for the division.
Work with key stakeholders to ensure that the strategic plan is implemented, outcomes are achieved, and financial structure is in place.
Perform process improvement and efficiency analysis to provide exceptional service throughout the financial operations in accordance with University’s mission.
Lead projects and conduct studies to identify opportunities to enhance financial growth and stability.
Contribute to Board of Trustee material preparation from financial units.
Other duties as assigned.
