Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting and informing students about program requirements and services.

  • Interacting with students, staff, and community partners to exchange information and make appropriate determinations.

  • Collaborating with staff to support the successful delivery of classroom instruction.

  • Conducting program presentations to students and/or community partners.

  • Entering, maintaining, and retrieving data in complex computerized records systems such as Lumens/LACES.

  • Scheduling classrooms to conduct instruction, student registration, and pre-testing events.

  • Scheduling, supervising, and delegating tasks to part-time staff.

  • Scheduling meetings and interviews as needed.

  • Occasionally travel to off-site locations to monitor and/or conduct registration events and/or proctor testing events.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical experience, one of which was in a college admission and/or records office or relevant student services area which included maintaining student information, data entry, reviewing applications and student contact; OR one year of experience as an Admissions & Records Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to use computer equipment.

  • Ability to pay extreme attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and speaking.

  • Knowledge of customer service skills including tact, patience, and courtesy.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Knowledge and experience in the use of Literacy Pro Systems LACES.

  • Knowledge and experience in the use of TOPSpro Enterprise.

  • Knowledge and experience in the use of DRC Insight.

  • Knowledge and experience in the use of Lumens.

  • Experience working with multicultural populations.

  • Basic knowledge of WIOA Title II services.

Starting Salary

Grade 25, Step 1 - $38,419.20

This position is grant funded and contingent upon ongoing and continuing funding.

Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
