Job Summary
The Coordinator of Student Involvement serves as a subject matter expert that supports engagement and retention of students through participation in and leadership development through our 170+ registered student organizations (RSO). The Coordinator manages the institutional support and recognition of all of our registered student organizations. Programming includes RSO trainings, monthly President's Roundtables, Club Fest, and other programs deemed appropriate. The Coordinator also shares responsibility for our RSO and event management software platform, JagLife. Through JagLIfe, the Coordinator ensures accurate RSO officer and membership information as well as approves and denies RSO event registrations. The Coordinator often meets one-on-one with RSO officers to discuss challenges and to help them grow their organization. This Coordinator will also assist the Assistant Director of Student Engagement in providing leadership development opportunities for all students. The Coordinator of Student Involvement will also be called upon to serve as an engaged member of our cross-functional team and is expected to be a productive member of our collaborative environment ultimately focusing on the creation of a thriving campus environment for all of our students.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
SERVE AS THE PRIMARY STAFF ADMINISTRATOR FOR ALL REGISTERED STUDENT ORGANIZATION: Exercise independent decision-making in regard to risk management and event programming. Create and coordinate resources for student organization and advisors that assist the university in retention. Monitor and provide oversight of the universities process to establish new student organizations. Provide tutorials and assistance to students who wish to officially recognize a desired student organization. Provide resources and effectively communicate with currently recognized organizations. Assist with policy and procedure development as it relates to student organizations. Maintain office time and be available for students on our Health Sciences Campus.
ASSESSMENT AND DATA INFORMED DECISION MAKING: Create, adapt. and execute regular program assessments for continuous improvement. Use institutional resources to keep a record of and analyze student involvement trends. Make budgetary decisions to support the growth of registered student organizations. Collect and analyze formative and summative assessment data to support data-informed decision-making. Supervision of student assistants.
ASSIST IN THE CREATION AND EXECUTION OF BROAD AND IN-DEPTH LEADERSHIP: Provide multiple opportunities for our students to interact with community and Industry leaders on leadership development topics. Develop a curriculum and implement a leadership development program for college students. Coordinate leadership workshops that can be standalone programs or used as leadership development sessions for student organizations.
PARTICIPATE AND ASSIST WITH OTHER FUNCTIONS: Participate and assist with other Department of Student Life & Engagement functions.
OTHER DUTIES: Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience in student engagement, community engagement, and/or event planning.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience.

KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/ databases.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and customer service skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Physical abilities to perform all job duties. Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated quality skills.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday-Friday (work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B7
Salary:$43,888/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
