Job Description
Bellevue University, the largest private, non-profit University in Nebraska, is seeking a full-time faculty member to fill the Assistant Professor of Software Development position in the College of Science and Technology. This position requires an experienced Software Development professional and educator. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise in many areas of Software Development including programming, software development lifecycle, requirements analysis, software design principles, database design and development, website development, and development operations.
Performance Functions:
Enthusiastically teach across a broad spectrum of Software Development / Information Systems topics and courses, both in-class and online.
Actively engage with students, both in-class and online, and provide constructive feedback on assignments.
Develop and maintain curricula in both online and classroom formats at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Actively participate in program assessment, student advising, and committee/community service.
Select and manage adjunct instructors for assigned courses.
Other duties as assigned by the Dean, or Assistant Dean.
Qualifications/Skills:
MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Development, or Computer Information Systems, Ph.D. preferred.
Relevant industry experience in Programming or Software Development, outside of academia
Experience in teaching and curriculum development across a broad spectrum of Software Development topics and courses
Proficiency in one or more third generation programming language (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, etc.).
A commitment to excellence in teaching and scholastic activities
