The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Kentucky University is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity in Architecture Education. We are seeking to fill a tenure-track eligible Assistant Professor position in the Architectural Science Program starting August 2025.
The new faculty member must have the ability to guide students in Architectural projects. A Master of Architecture with North American licensure or Ph.D. in Architecture or closely related field is required. The Architectural Science program is committed to producing graduates who are well prepared for the start of productive, successful careers.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a productive scholarly program that engages students in applied research. Service activities at all levels of the university are expected, as well as academic and professional mentoring to students.

Candidates must be capable and willing to fully participate in the applied learning environment and dedicated to excellence in teaching. The responsibilities of this position include teaching, scholarship, and service that are to be conducted within the context of the University, School, and Program Mission Statements. The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Promotion, Tenure, and Post-Tenure Review policies describe the professional and academic qualifications necessary for our program.
Our faculty take ownership of the program's curricula and create experiences necessary to prepare students for the start of their professional careers.
Requirements:
Master of Architecture with North American licensure or Ph. D. in Architecture or a closely related field
University-level teaching experience and/or professional experience directly related to architecture.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and rendering software.
Experience in building systems, construction documentation, architectural design, and building codes.
