Job Summary:
The Department of Operations and Information Management (OIM) at the Wisconsin School of Business invites applications for an Assistant Professor position to start in August 2025.
This position is part of the Wisconsin Research, Innovation and Scholarly Excellence (RISE)-Artificial Intelligence (AI) cluster hire initiative (https://rise.wisc.edu/rise-ai/). The candidate's tenure home is in the OIM department at the Wisconsin School of Business, and the candidate will participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools, and colleges. We are especially interested in applications from candidates who apply cutting-edge AI technical expertise to address high-impact problems in Operations Management or Information Systems.
The OIM department comprises a vibrant, research-active faculty with broad research and teaching interests. We seek outstanding candidates who complement these interests with high-quality research and teaching in student-centered and collaborative learning environments. We offer a PhD program, multiple MBA specializations, an MS degree in Supply Chain Management, and three undergraduate majors (in Information Systems, Operations and Technology Management, and Supply Chain Management). We also have a strong presence in the MS in Business Analytics program and the Executive and Professional MBA programs. The OIM department is closely affiliated with the Erdman Center for Operations and Technology Management and the Grainger Center for Supply Chain Management, founded on the principle of cross-functional collaboration and industry engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a strong program of research.
- Provide classroom and individual instruction for undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students.
- Contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the department, school, and university, as appropriate.
- Participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools and colleges
