Job Description

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine seeks a highly skilled and experienced Neuroscientist to join the Sheth and Provenza laboratories. The lab focuses on deep brain stimulation, epilepsy monitoring, and developing novel neuromodulation therapies for psychiatric disorders. We are looking for a team member to help coordinate and automate all aspects of the data pipeline, from initial collection to automated processing and analysis to improve clinical outcomes. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, such as able to articulate clinical, research and/or teaching responsibilities of the position, overseeing cloud and on-premises infrastructure and offering technical assistance to colleagues and end users. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of neuroscience research, communication skills, and proficiency with Python and Matlab, Windows, and Linux server administration. They will be responsible for processing and analyzing multi-modal data for publication in peer-reviewed journal or presentation to the target audience. The position requires excellent communication skills, and working directly with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, research coordinators, data managers, biostatisticians, fellows, and students.

Job Duties

  • Develop code to analyze neural data, video, and behavior from wearables.
  • Evaluate neural data quality from at-home and in-clinic recordings.
  • Track participant data collection and work with clinical team to encourage compliance.
  • Develop data visualization tools to display meaningful features.
  • Cross-train colleagues on various technologies and software elements.
  • Completes statistical and qualitative analyses on new and available data sets.
  • Automated compilation of quantitative and qualitative data sources.
  • Prepares comprehensive documented observations, analyses and interpretations of results including technical reports, summaries, protocols, and qualitative analyses.
  • Develops systems, processes, and procedures for timely data collection.
  • Processes research information and results for easier consumption.
  • Provides statistical analysis and data management support scientific progress.
  • Assist with drafting of grant proposals and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhDs degree in Neuroscience, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience, clinical, research, teaching preferred.
  • Grants, bilingual, awards preferred.
