Assistant Dean, Enrollment Operations and Slate Administrator

Summary
Reporting to the Dean of Admissions, the Assistant Dean shall be responsible for overseeing all current and future enrollment systems used in undergraduate and graduate recruitment and admissions. The Assistant Dean is expected to know Slate at the level of “Slate Captain” or above, to streamline and improve processes and shall use their expertise to suggest and manage changes to support enrollment goals.

Essential Job Functions
- Manage the Office of Admissions' CRM, Technolutions Slate, and all relevant integrations. Understand the data maintained in Slate, Colleague, and third-party vendors. Preserve the integrity of the data. Create written procedures for all processes.
- Develop and implement standard Slate functions, including but not limited to: forms, communication flows, events, queries/reports, records and portals to ensure a superior user experience throughout the admissions application and enrollment cycle. Lead the annual application update process and cycle prep to ensure optimal functioning.
- Provide technical support for all processes. Analyze and solve technical issues. Respond to ad hoc information requests.
- Keep up-to-date on and recommend use of new Slate features.
- Lead project management and planning, developing reasonable timelines for project completion. Evaluate effectiveness of projects to ensure best outcomes are achieved.
- Member of the Office of Admissions Leadership Team, contributing to the overall management of the department. Schedule recurring communications and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns in collaboration with this Team.
- Meet regularly with the Office of Admissions staff to determine and implement strategies to optimize and customize, if necessary, Slate to improve enrollment practices. Provide appropriate and timely Slate training, as requested and needed.
- Build collaborative cross campus partnerships, including the Administration, Faculty, Institutional Research, IT, Academic Affairs, Student Success, Athletics, etc.
- Work with outside vendors to customize their software to meet SMC's needs and/or to deliver critical data/processes.
- Supervise and manage at least one staff member and multiple student workers.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution.
- Five to seven years of experience with a CRM and a Student Information System, preferably Technolutions Slate and Colleague.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Technolutions Slate: structures, tables, forms, security, flow of data across processes/units, including importing prospect names and building audiences for communication planning, maintain user profiles, etc.
- Effective team player, as well as, the ability to complete quality work independently.
- Ability to communicate well in written and verbal form with internal and external partners.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and advance multiple, high-priority projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Willing to actively contribute to SMC's mission.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education supporting both undergraduate and graduate admissions.
- Experience working and reporting enrollment through an analytical framework.
