ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Thisposition will report to the AA IV responsible for overseeing front desk operations within the Office of the Registrar. Under minimal supervision, the individual in this position will manage front desk operations at the North Las Vegas campus. Proficiency in systems such as PeopleSoft, OnBase, Cisco Finesse, CSN’s queuing system, Workday and Greymatter will be required. The role demands consistent attendance, punctuality, a commitment to service excellence, and strong written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate may occasionally be required to support other CSN locations, as needed, in line with the college's multi-campus model. They will also be expected to promote an inclusive environment that fosters connection, shared investment, pride, and goodwill across the CSN community.
Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Office of the Registrar at the respective campus. Key duties include supervising lower-level classified staff and student employees, ensuring quality service delivery, and maintaining program compliance. The successful candidate will effectively manage operations, resolve issues, and ensure consistent service standards across multiple campuses.
Key Responsibilities
Organize and supervise daily operations of lower-level staff and student employees within the Office of the Registrar.
Train, supervise, and evaluate personnel performance; assign and prioritize tasks, ensuring completion within established timelines and standards.
Review documents prepared by others for program compliance.
Submit and approve leave for lower-level staff, in Workday.
Identify and resolve discrepancies, providing guidance and support to lower-level staff.
Develop and implement procedures and desk manuals to ensure continuous Service Excellence.
Manage escalated concerns and diffuse irate callers referred by lower-level staff, in-person, over the phone, or via email.
Collaborate with front desk supervisors across campuses to ensure uniformity in service delivery at all main locations.
Review and determine eligibility for in-state tuition, program of study, and bio-demographic changes based on established policies. Ensure financial implications and student notifications are handled appropriately.
Prepare appeals for committee review, record committee decisions in MyCSN by sending communication, and ensure accurate documentation.
Compile and prepare reports using spreadsheets, summarizing statistical data for internal and external review.
Maintain records in accordance with NSHE, the American Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers, and other regulatory entities, ensuring compliance for the Henderson campus Office of the Registrar.
Support office operations as needed under the direction of the supervisor or office head.
OTHER ASSOCIATED FACTORS
This position primarily involves sitting and or standing at a desk for extended periods.
Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment.
Some physical activity is required, including walking, bending, and lifting items up to 15 lbs.
The position may require additional hours during peak registration periods and flexibility to work at any of our three main campuses as needed for front-desk coverage.
Starting Salary
Grade 27, Step 1 - $46,207.44
Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
