Qualifications:
Introduction to Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Laboratory is an introductory laboratory for the lower division introductory course. Experiments in cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry are conducted.
This course will be taught in person on the Moraga campus during the 2025 Spring term on Tuesdays from 1:30 - 5:30 pm.
To ensure consistency between sections of this multi-section course, instructors will faithfully implement the syllabus, experiments, laboratory activities, assessments, and/or grading standards provided by the Lab Coordinator or Department Chair.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field; and undergraduate teaching experience in cell and molecular biology labs; and research experience in cell and molecular biology, specifically spectrophotometry, protein analysis, microscopy, enzyme assays, DNA isolation and analysis; and Experience using Excel or similar graphing program. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught the course (BIOL 201L) or BIOL 001L.
Candidates must reside in California.
The salary range for this position is $6,207 - $8,590 (2.5 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
