Job Summary
The Department of Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Surveying at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in Johnson City, TN is seeking a Professor of Practice in the field of Mechatronics Engineering.
This is a non-tenure track, nine-month academic appointment with a three-year term, renewable at the discretion of the department chair. The successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration in teaching and service. The position requires teaching four courses per semester, including both lecture and lab components, as well as holding on-site office hours and attending meetings as necessary.
The Professor of Practice in Mechatronics Engineering will develop and teach curriculum for the Mechatronics Engineering B.S. program, covering topics such as electro-mechanical systems, robotics, mechatronics devices, control systems, automation, and software development. The role includes providing instruction in sensors, instrumentation, data acquisition, network interfaces, and security protocols for manufacturing systems. Additionally, the faculty member will contribute to ABET accreditation documentation and support curriculum development within the department. Service responsibilities include serving on college and departmental committees, participating in ABET accreditation and other assessment processes, and assisting with curriculum revisions to meet accreditation standards.

5 years of relevant industrial or educational experience
OR
Masters in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
10 years of relevant industrial or educational experience
