Job Description
The Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team. The Financial Analyst provides management, administration and/or analysis and evaluation of financial activities with the department. The primary responsibility is dedicated to enhancing the financial administrative efficiencies for the departments within the college. This includes providing daily assistance and comprehensive training to a large volume of departmental staff on financial reporting and reconciling of Monthly Organizational Certifications (MOC).
Responsibilities:
- Collects and analyzes data and prepares financial reports.
- Monitors financial and budgetary systems for the departments and college to insure proper allocation of expenditures and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Oversees administrative processes to effective financial management and reporting.
- Performs data analysis and prepares reports.
- Balances accounts and prepares monthly financial statements.
- Assists in the preparation and administration of the annual budget and preparing follow-up reports as requested throughout the year.
- Management of monthly organizational certifications (MOC)
- Primary contact for departments
- Provide training and training materials
- Oversee and track departmental process
- Coordinates with University administration offices regarding financial practices with the college and department.
- Advises on matters concerning administrative practices, policies and procedures regarding accounts for the departments.
- Assist with development, implementation, and interpretation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state and university policies and regulations.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position
Job Requirements
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, AND:
- 24 months financial, budgeting, or accounting experience
Equivalency & Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.

- Ability to adapt and remain flexible to changing strategies to meet department initiatives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative work style with all levels within the University
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills and able to work under pressure
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom and Teams
- Working knowledge of financial or accounting to include analysis, auditing, and budgeting
- Detailed oriented for accuracy of data and information
- Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
