Summary

This position requires exemplary communication skills both written and verbal, and the ability to manage multiple, often overlapping deadlines. The successful candidate will provide support to the Cain Foundation Director, faculty and laboratories by performing the tasks on a day-to-day basis that include, but are not limited to the following: entering data, budgeting, reconciling accounts, submitting grant applications, purchasing, compiling required reports, providing support for research projects and recruitment activities, and documenting approvals.

Job Duties

  • Plan, coordinate and schedule Cain Foundation meetings, events, seminars, and other functions for the Cain Foundation NRI-Faculty and Cain Director including reserving appropriate conference rooms, handling catering arrangements, creating fliers and advertising through appropriate channels.
  • Present and/or provide information regarding Cain updates in preparation of meetings, events, seminars, board meetings.
  • Coordinate faculty and trainee recruitment activities including coordination with ISO for international recruits.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations at the NRI for Cain Foundation
  • Prepare and maintain documents for Cain Foundation Director and Faculty as needed.
  • Assemble and compile reports and information needed to complete and submit (online) annual progress reports, renewals, resubmissions, and new grants for the foundation.
  • Review expenditures to verify accuracy, need, and compliance.
  • Assist with preparation of grants and subcontract submissions by gathering and submitting financial and research data.
  • Have monthly financial meetings with Cain Director and Cain Faculty to discuss current status of funding, year end closeouts.
  • Prepare budget revisions when needed based on the needs of the Cain Foundation and donors requirements.
  • Assist Research Administration Manager with the BCM fiscal year budget preparation regarding the outlook for the upcoming year financials for the Cain Foundation funding.
  • Purchase, order materials, not limited to supplies and capital items for the Director, Cain-Faculty and Cain Staff
  • Help prepare financial statement and reporting for the annual Cain foundation board meeting.
  • Meet with TCH Accounting quarterly to discuss current financial state of Cain Foundation funding in accordance to the foundation guidance.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
