Baylor College of Medicine has a great opportunity for a full-time Certified Medical Dosimetrist to join a growing Radiation Oncology team and become one of three dosimetrists for the Baylor St. Luke's Radiation Therapy clinic. A successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with the team, including the Radiation Therapists, Physicists, and Physicians. It is also important that the person has experience with Eclipse and Rapid Arc. Duties for this position include generating individual treatment plans for IMRT, SBRT, SRS, and HDR cases, preparing all technical documentation required for treatment delivery, conducting weekly chart checks, and participating in department meetings and peer review/chart round sessions.

Summary

The Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center first received NCI designation 13 years ago and since then has grown and matured holding SPORE grants in both Breast Cancer and Lymphoma as well as being home to the Human Genome Sequencing Center. This growth culminated in being designated an NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2015. Excellence in clinical care, research, and education has not gone unnoticed as in the 2021 U.S. News and World Reports rankings The Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Baylor St Luke's Hospital was listed 25th in the nation, despite being one of the youngest centers on the list.

The Baylor St Luke's practice now occupies the first floor of the 12-story outpatient facility at the O'Quinn Tower. It has four treatment vaults newly equipped with Varian Edge and Halcyon LINACs as well as 2 Siemens wide-bore CT simulators with one located in a dedicated HDR treatment vault. A robust research enterprise is available with BCM being an active member of NRG, SWOG, COG, and the Alliance cooperative groups.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certification in medical dosimetry or eligibility is required.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree preferred; non-BS degree candidates with extensive work experience will be considered.
  • At least one year of clinical dosimetry experience required.
  • 3 years of experience strongly preferred.
