Job Description
Summary
Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center offers a paid summer internship program with learning opportunities within the research labs, administration, and psychosocial services. The program fosters the development of learners who have demonstrated an interest in pediatric hematology/oncology (PHO) or pediatric healthcare personnel.
Job Purpose
Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.
Job Duties
- Demonstrates ability to relate to children of various ages and cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and enjoyment of children, plus sensitivity and compassion for their special needs.
- Focuses on the creation of Making A Mark entries.
- Communicates with staff, patients and siblings.
- Cleans and puts away supplies.
- Participates in patient/family events Computer Skills General Administrative Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
