Summary

Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center offers a paid summer internship program with learning opportunities within the research labs, administration, and psychosocial services. The program fosters the development of learners who have demonstrated an interest in pediatric hematology/oncology (PHO) or pediatric healthcare personnel.

Job Purpose

Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.

Job Duties

Demonstrates ability to relate to children of various ages and cultural backgrounds.
Demonstrates enthusiasm and enjoyment of children, plus sensitivity and compassion for their special needs.
Focuses on the creation of Making A Mark entries.
Communicates with staff, patients and siblings.
Cleans and puts away supplies.
Participates in patient/family events Computer Skills General Administrative Skills

Minimum Qualifications

Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
