Qualifications:
The corresponding lab (BIOL 140L) for Microbiology (BIOL 140) will focus on techniques for culture, isolation, characterization, and identification of microorganisms. There are no prerequisites for BIO140/140L. This lab is usually taken by students in their first year at Saint Mary's College.
This lab will be taught in person on the Moraga campus during the 2025 Fall term on Fridays from 8:30 - 11:30 am.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in a relevant area of biology and undergraduate teaching experience in biology. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught Biology 41.
Candidates must reside in California.
The salary range for this position is $6,206 - $8,590 (2.5 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
