Summary

This position is a strategic, results-oriented marketing and communications leader to shape and amplify its industry and economic engagement profile as a core component of the BGSU brand. This high-impact role will drive the branding, marketing, and communications efforts to position BGSU as a national benchmark for university-industry collaboration. The position will develop and execute a compelling narrative that defines the University as an industry-aligned ecosystem where strategic industry partnerships and workforce readiness are central to the student experience and regional impact.

Essential Functions

• Develop and steward a compelling brand narrative that positions BGSU at the forefront of university-industry collaboration. Showcase success stories and institutional partnerships to highlight BGSU's leadership in workforce readiness, talent pipelines, and regional economic impact.

• Develop diverse collateral-including op-eds, case studies, videos, digital assets, and social content-to bring the brand story to life. Use marketing technology and analytics to gain insights, track engagement, and optimize strategies for maximum impact.

• Design and execute targeted campaigns tailored to key industries, corporate partners, students, parents, and internal stakeholders. Create content strategies that emphasize innovation and distinctly position BGSU beyond the traditional career center model.

• Build and implement internal communications initiatives that informs and engages faculty and staff, reinforcing BGSU's vision of an industry-integrated ecosystem.

• Maintain brand alignment across all channels, materials, and messaging. Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs), evaluate campaign effectiveness, and refine strategies to expand partnerships, enhance engagement, and create new opportunities for students.

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

The following Degree is required:

• Bachelor's degree. Degree must be conferred at time of application.

The following Experience is required:

• 5 years of experience in one or combination of the following:
• Marketing
• Communications
• Public Relations
• Journalism

The following Education and Experience is preferred:

• Master's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or a related field

• Experience in higher education, economic development, or an industry-facing organization
• Familiarity with university-industry partnerships, workforce development initiatives, or student-centered career ecosystems
• Demonstrated ability to develop segmented strategies for engaging corporate stakeholders and industry partners
• Proficiency in marketing analytics tools, CRM systems, and content management platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Slate, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.)

Additional Information

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong understanding of strategic marketing, branding, and communications
• Familiarity with university-industry partnerships and workforce development
• Knowledge of content creation, including writing, video, and digital media
• Experience with marketing analytics, CRM systems, and campaign performance tools
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
• Ability to design and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Proficient in using data to inform and improve marketing strategies
• Skilled in collaboration and cross-functional team leadership
• Ability to develop and maintain a consistent brand narrative
• Ability to engage broad audiences, including industry partners and internal stakeholders
• Creative thinker with the ability to position the university in innovative ways
• Ability to evaluate campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively
