Job Summary
The Assistant Director (AD) is a leadership position in Career Services, providing supervision for four (4) full-time Career Consultants (professional staff), a graduate assistant, and student assistant. Additionally, the AD provides career/professional development guidance and support to students enrolled/accepted into the university's academic programs that span undergraduate, graduate, professional, and medical/doctoral degrees. Reporting to the Director of Career Services, the AD also serves as primary administrator of career services' technology systems and provides leadership and assistance in web-based technology, data collection, management, and reporting. As a part of the Student Success unit inside Enrollment & Student Affairs, the AD partners across other offices to ensure high touch services to support the academic, career, and professional goals of our students.
Responsibilities
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist students in clarifying academic and career goals through individual career advisement, and the administration/interpretation of career and personality inventories. Participates in the design and delivery of career-related workshops, programs, and panels. Helps students develop and refine resume writing, interviewing, job-search, and professional development skills. Serves as liaison to student groups, clubs, and organizations requesting programming and partnerships. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Career Services.
MANAGERIAL/LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages full-time professional staff, including coordinating daily office operations, project management, staff training, mentoring, and performance evaluations. Meets with academic leadership, campus partners, and student support areas to develop and implement initiatives involving the career and professional development of students in and out of the classroom. Provides training to professional and student staff on the effective use of educational and administrative systems. Assists Director in the development and curation of data for reporting, assessment, and measurement. Manages workflows to ensure compliance with office and university policies, internal and external to the department. Serves as the go-to lead on office technology regarding trouble shooting, data analysis, promotion and management. Develops and/or improves mechanisms for tracking and reporting data/statistics, for both internal and external audiences. Serves on various college committees as assigned. Facilitates student success initiatives across the division, ensuring case management and coordinated care across our student success and student engagement partners. Coordinates the data and reporting needs for Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) for the unit. Partners and collaborates with Assistant Directors across the Student Success units to ensure comprehensive support services for students. Develop programming that fosters career readiness in and out of the classroom. Engage employers regarding our services and recruitment partnerships to ensure prompt service. Some evening and weekend attendance at college functions as required. Establishes positive relationships and administers the planning and promotion of Career Services to students, alumni, faculty, and employers through a wide array of partnerships. Assists with refinements of marketing materials, communication plans, office protocols, and benchmarks.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Higher Education Administration or closely related field and a minimum of two years of experience in career development or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with career development, employer relations, presenting, and leading others.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the regular business hours may be required)
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
