This position provides administrative support to senior leadership and others by handling a variety of tasks such as managing calendars; scheduling and organizing meetings; coordinating catering; planning for, and assisting during, special events; inputting travel reimbursements and small business expenses; purchasing items via a PCard order while adhering to procurement guidelines; providing front office presence and management; and providing assistance and direction to phone, email, and in-person customers.

Demonstrated skill in performing tasks requiring attention to detail with accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while producing quality work.
Demonstrated ability to function with limited supervision and independence.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, schedules, and travel arrangements.
Ability to learn and adapt to a changing environment and/or priorities.

Considerable experience providing support in an administrative office to many employees.
Basic experience using Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Teams. Some experience providing support to senior-level employees.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)
Working knowledge of Commonwealth of VA policies and procedures, and procurement processes.
Working experience supporting a senior executive
Working experience managing a dynamic calendar of a senior executive.
Working experience coordinating events and meetings including preparation of invitations, catering menus/plans, and detailed event execution.
Working experience making travel arrangements and processing expense reimbursements
Conditions of Employment
Work hours for this position are fixed – Monday through Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM, and work location is on the ODU campus in Norfolk, VA.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $ - 42,500
