The Director of Clinical Education (DCE) is a Principal Faculty member of the PA Program. This role includes teaching responsibilities.
The DCE job description includes the following: develops, coordinates, and presents the clinical component of the curriculum to second-year PA students; participates in regular (weekly to monthly) review of the effectiveness of the education program to meet and exceed all requirements of the Department and the accrediting body; effectively communicates clinical effectiveness, deficiencies, and concerns with the Department Chair/Program Director.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Master’s Degree in a health-related or educational field from an accredited college or university is required to qualify for a Special Purpose faculty position. A Doctoral Degree in a health-related or educational field from an accredited college or university is required to qualify for a tenure-track faculty position.
Experience: Two years of clinical experience and some teaching experience required. Experience as an instructor or Director of Clinical Education/Clinical Coordinator preferred.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Appropriate current professional licensure and or certification. NCCPA-certified PA preferred.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational abilities and understanding of educational principles and methodologies. Must be able to drive or travel locally/regionally between site locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
NCCPA-certified PA preferred.
Experience as an instructor or Director of Clinical Education/Clinical Coordinator preferred.
