Postdoctoral Fellow - Laura Nagy Lab
Job Description
A postdoctoral fellow or research associate position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Laura Nagy in the Department of Inflammation and Immunity at the Cleveland Clinic to study the role of the innate immune system, including toll-like receptor signal transduction and complement activation, in the progression of alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD) and tissue injury.
The research will focus on the effects of chronic ethanol on key signal transduction pathways in hepatocytes, hepatic macrophages and stellate cells with a goal towards understanding the mechanism of development of chronic inflammatory responses and hepatocyte injury in liver.
Projects related to regulation of cell death pathways, interferon signaling, complement in kidney injury and pathways of gut-liver or adipose-liver interactions are available. Approaches used in the lab range from molecular to translational, with an emphasis on bioinformatics.
Experience in at least one of the following areas is desired: cell biology, signal transduction, molecular biology, complement, liver or kidney physiology, bioinformatics or macrophage biology. Experience in experimental design and data analysis in cultured cells, animal models and large ‘omics datasets is preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
Candidates should have a recent PhD in cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, or a related discipline and experience in signal transduction and cell biology.
