Summary
The Natural and Social Sciences Department at Bowling Green State University Firelands College is seeking an Assistant Teaching Professor in Biology. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in microbiology or a related discipline. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, nine-month, renewable faculty appointment.

Essential Functions
Teach 12 credit hours per semester in upper-division microbiology, as well as introductory biology and general education curriculum.
Teaching In-Person, as well as Online, and evening may be required.
Participate in professional development.
Participate in department, college, and university service activities.
Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in microbiology or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment.
Evidence of effective teaching potential in introductory and other undergraduate biology courses, which may include but is not limited to graduate teaching assistantships, teaching evaluations, and graduate supervisor/peer evaluations.
This position will require a professional who will flourish at a primarily two-year regional branch college of a major university and demonstrate a commitment to and excellence in teaching introductory and upper-division biology courses.
Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches and innovative teaching practices which target pre-nursing and allied health student populations.
Experience teaching Microbiology courses (lecture and lab) at the undergraduate level, this may include experience obtained as an appointed faculty, adjunct faculty, or graduate student.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness, which may include but is not limited to teaching evaluations, peer evaluations, evidence of innovative teaching practices, and experience with online instruction in the area of Microbiology.
