Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Dental Assistant II for the Endodontics Department with the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM).
The Dental Assistant II will provide clinical support to residents and faculty during examination and treatment in the patient care clinic. The Dental Assistant II will perform chair-side assistance, digital radiographs, and dispensary assignment as required.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists residents chairside in the delivery of quality oral health care.
Exposes and scans digital radiographs using digital sensor or phosphor plates.
Issues equipment, instruments, and supplies to residents and/or faculty.
Checks returned instruments and prepare them for sterilization. Delivers, inspects, and retrieves instruments from the central sterilization unit.
Examines equipment to detect leaks, worn or loose parts, or other indications of disrepair, verifying that equipment functions properly, complete requisition for equipment maintenance, repairs, replacement, and/or removal.
