The UMKC Information Services department is looking for an organized, reliable Business Tech Analyst who can successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and with the ability to work well with others to process the procurement of hardware and software systems.
Successful applicants will be detail-oriented self-starters with strong customer service skills, a willingness to work in a team environment, and a desire to work with new technology products and services. Duties include but are not limited to:
Process orders, contracts, and agreements for the purchase of hardware and software assets using the university’s purchasing system.
Comply with regulatory guidelines, University policies and procedures for the purchase of university assets.
Ensure the proper and timely payment of charges for goods and services received by the University.
Stay current with industry trends and standard computer models and peripheral devices.
Track, record, and maintain records in hardware and software license databases.
Answer routine inquiries and communicate status updates to end users via email, Teams, or ticketing platform.
Perform duties with limited supervision. Most normal duties and responsibilities are handled independently with the use of established procedures and policies. Difficult or unique situations are referred to Team Lead.
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge of technology, software products, services, and procurement processes
Working knowledge of computer hardware, including computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
Strong customer service skills with a willingness to work in a team environment
Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
Must be reliable, a self-starter, and detail oriented.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have excellent organizational skills.
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of experience in the information technology, telecommunications industry, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the acquisition of IT products and services
Experience using eProcurement systems (PeopleSoft preferred
Working knowledge of licensing agreements
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $24.52 - $27.40
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
