Job Description
Responsibilities
Facilitates and manages faculty recruitment/hiring process, submits open faculty positions for advertisement and oversees recruitment visits.
Prepares and submits dossiers for faculty appointments for newly hired faculty.
Advises the Chair and Committee Chair on rules and procedures related to promotion and tenures and meets the College of Medicine submission deadlines.
Directs and manages departmental special events, including guest speakers/lecturers, faculty recruitment visits, and annual departmental functions.
Advises faculty regarding the faculty evaluation process and entering activities in Digital Measures.
Manages accounting activities for expense accounts, oversees endowment accounts, and reconciles departmental, endowment and gift fund ledgers monthly including contributions/deposits.
Develops, prepares, and monitors departmental annual budget; prepares and reviews monthly budget reports and responsibility summaries.
Requests and approves work orders for construction services, facility planning, computer services, IT, and telephone services.
Advises and directs faculty on administrative, academic, and educational policies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of work-related experience; OR Bachelor's Degree in lieu of experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge management skills.
Ability to manage highly confidential information as required.
Ability to act independently and administratively on behalf of the department and chairman in non-routine areas of responsibility.
Ability to work effectively with staff, residents, faculty, administration, GME office, and affiliates in the community and national governing bodies/organizations.
Skills in managing multiple diverse projects and deadlines efficiently.
Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
