The University of Sharjah invites applications and nominations for the position ofDean of the College of Computing and Informatics. Role and Responsibilities

The Dean is expected to provide visionary leadership to advance the College's mission in education, research, and community engagement. Key responsibilities include:

Establish and lead high-impact research programs aligned with regional priorities and global technological trends, particularly in areas such as AI, data science, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
Strengthen the College's research profile by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, securing external funding, and promoting innovation and knowledge transfer.
Build and sustain a global network of visiting scholars, industry experts, and strategic partners to enhance academic and research activities.
Promote strong engagement with industry, government, and international institutions to support education, research, and employability outcomes.
Lead academic program development and curriculum innovation aligned with emerging fields and accreditation standards.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and multicultural academic environment that supports faculty and student success.
Ensure excellence in teaching, learning outcomes, and student experience across all programs.


Minimum Required Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic achievements and leadership experience, including:

A PhD from a recognized and reputable university in a relevant discipline.
Full Professor rank in one of the College's fields.
A distinguished international research record, including publications in high-impact refereed journals.
Proven experience in establishing and leading interdisciplinary academic programs.
Strong record of collaboration across disciplines and institutions.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and academic leadership.
Substantial administrative experience in higher education, preferably at the level of Dean or equivalent at a reputable institution.
Experience with academic accreditation processes at national and international levels.
Familiarity with the credit-hour system and modern higher education practices.
Strong understanding of academic administration, human resources, and financial management.
Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
A clear and compelling vision for the future of computing and informatics education and research.
