Essential Functions
The University of Texas Permian Basin and Project BCBC invite applications for the Credentialing Coordinator
position. This role is supported by Project BCBC (Building Credit Bearing Short Term Credentialing
Programs), a U.S. Department of Education grant aimed at helping UTPB students earn credit-bearing,
stackable micro-credentials. As a grant-funded position with a four-year project timeline, the Credentialing
Coordinator, under the supervision of the Director of Microcredentials, will assist in planning and organizing all
grant project activities related to student credentialing. They will also handle key operational and evaluation
tasks, such as managing communications, supporting project participants, collecting and analyzing data, and
helping create and maintain collaborative interdepartmental teams.
This is a full-time, on-campus role. Remote work is not available.
1. Assist in planning, organizing, and executing all project activities related to developing and/or enhancing
credentialing and certificate programs at UTPB.
2. Maintain and update the inventory of all credit-bearing credential programs, including course details and
compliance documentation.
3. Conduct periodic audits of credentialing files to ensure compliance and accuracy.
4. Coordinate credentialing program approvals at the institutional, state, and federal levels and ensure accurate
updates in the catalog and student information system (SIS) for program eligibility, articulation, and
compliance.
5. Prepare and manage necessary state and federal credentialing evidence files (such as syllabi, assessments,
reports, employer validations, applications, MOUs).
6. Assist in developing and updating credentialing policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
7. Maintain confidential and legally compliant record-keeping practices.
8. Track and report program outcomes such as certificate/credential completion rates, job placement, and
earnings for both formative and summative project evaluation.
9. Help students identify, select, and gain admission into UTPB micro-credentialing programs.
10. Collaborate with academic departments, institutional research, and employer partners to align credentials
with workforce needs.
11. Serve as the primary contact for participants (students) enrolled in UTPB's micro-credentialing programs.
12. Act as the main point of contact for all staff and faculty involved in credentialing program curriculum,
alignment, and Workforce Pell approval projects.
13. Generate and share credentialing data reports for academic units, university leadership, funders, and
workforce partners.

Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, public administration, or a related field.
2. One year of relevant experience and/or training related to the essential duties and responsibilities.
3. Knowledge of basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, familiarity with database systems, and experience with data entry, analysis, and synthesis.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Demonstrated initiative with the ability to take ownership of projects and demonstrate exceptional follow-through.
6. Ability to interact professionally with staff, students, and the public.
7. Demonstrated commitment to supporting a diverse, nontraditional, first-generation student population.
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Previous experience in curriculum development and alignment is preferred.
3. Prior experience with program compliance is preferred.
4. Experience in online learning design is preferred.
5. Demonstrates self-motivation and attention to detail.
6. Able to proactively solve problems.
7. Practices sound judgment, tact, and can multitask effectively under pressure.

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
Standard Working Conditions
1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
