Hiring Department
The University of Texas Permian Basin's Admissions Department welcomes applications for the position of Data Specialist.

Salary Range
$38,000.00 depending on qualifications
Essential Functions
The Admissions Data Specialist supports undergraduate admissions operations by processing applications, maintaining accurate records, and preparing applicant files for review and evaluation at The University of Texas Permian Basin. This role ensures timely and accurate data entry for both domestic and international applicants while coordinating document processing and communication with prospective students. Working with attention to detail, the position contributes to efficient admissions workflows and supports the University's enrollment efforts through consistent and reliable data management.
1. Responsible for the download, printing and data entry of applications and transcripts with little supervisory direction; responsible for maintaining the electronic application and ensuring timely and accurate information is maintained for potential applicants to the University.
2. Communicate with prospective students regarding required documents and support timely processing of applications, including designated applicant types.
3. Perform data entry for admission applications and related documentation.
4. Document receipt of academic credentials, examine transcripts received to determine authenticity, provide administrative oversight and updates to the electronic application website, download and print electronic applications and electronic high school and college transcripts.
5. Supervise and assist with and oversee the posting of electronic test scores, including SAT, ACT, CLEP, AP, and IB, and apply credit as appropriate.
6. Assist with the scanning of academic credentials; evaluate transcripts to prepare them for data entry; file documents and assist with the creation and completion of the academic files.
7. Assist with monitoring and maintaining the Admissions email account.
8. Collaborate with Graduate, Registrar's Offices, Financial Aid, and Academic Advising in all aspects of data processing.

Required Qualifications
1. High school diploma with at least one year of college coursework.
2. Two (2) years of clerical or office administration experience or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge and skills.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
3. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
4. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
Standard Working Conditions
1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
