Postdoctoral Associate
Job Description
Summary
Dr. Sameer Sheth’s Laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a Postdoctoral Associate to lead projects studying neural-behavioral relationships underlying psychiatric disorders and the mechanisms by which deep brain stimulation achieves therapeutic benefit. This field is now entering an extremely exciting phase in which peripheral/wearable technologies can provide time-resolved measures of real-world behavioral features. Coupling these previously unavailable behavioral data with intracranial neural recordings from recording-enabled brain stimulation systems provides a tremendous opportunity to understand the neural basis of cognition, affect, emotion, motivation, and other related behaviors. These projects are ideal for Postdoctoral Associate interested in acquiring and analyzing task-locked and naturalistic behavior via wearables, audio, and video recordings, as well as intracranial neurophysiology. The position will provide rigorous exposure and mentorship in clinical psychiatric neuromodulation and cognitive neuroscience across the Departments of Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Neurology, and Neuroscience at BCM as well as the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Neuroengineering Initiative at Rice University.
Baylor College of Medicine typically follows similar to the NIH stipulated stipend guidelines for Postdoctoral Associates.
