Summary

The Intern will support ongoing biomedical engineering research focused on organ perfusion systems and related experimental models. This role offers hands-on training in laboratory techniques, engineering design, and data analysis, including working with biological tissues and perfusate systems. The intern will assist in experiment setup, prototype development, and evaluation of system performance, while contributing to research activities that integrate biomaterials, fluid dynamics, and device design. This position provides exposure to both in vitro and ex vivo systems, fostering skill development in data interpretation, technical documentation, and iterative problem-solving in a collaborative research environment.

Job Duties

  • Assist with preparation and setup of biomedical engineering experiments and related laboratory equipment.
  • Support collection, organization, and documentation of experimental data and research observations.
  • Participate in basic laboratory activities involving biological samples, materials, or device components.
  • Assist with engineering design tasks, including prototype development, component evaluation, and design documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in high school, trade/vocational school or higher education institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in biomedical engineering, physiology, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Interest in biomaterials, fluid dynamics, or organ perfusion systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to iterate rapidly.
