Job Description

The Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Immunology of Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, School of Medicine, at the University of California, Irvine anticipates future openings for Postdoctoral Scholar positions.

The applicant can either have their PhD at the time of the application or could be working towards the PhD.

Interdisciplinary skills and approaches in Genomics, Bioinformatics, RNA Sequencing, CyToF, FACS, Advanced Imaging, Biochemistry, Immunology and Cell Biology are strongly desired.

The incumbent must be comfortable and/or have experience in working with laboratory animal models (mice, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rabbits), and with human samples and an understanding of advanced immunological, virological and pathological methods. This is an ongoing recruitment. Available positions are dependent on extramural funding. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Preference will be given to candidates with interdisciplinary skills and approaches in Immunology, Microbiology, Pathology, Neuroscience, and/or related disciplines.

All months of prior postdoc service will be counted towards the placement of the Postdoctoral Scholar at their initial experience level. The total service as a postdoctoral scholar cannot exceed five years. This includes prior postdoctoral service at other institutions (both domestic and foreign).
