The Endoscopy Technicianassiststhe physician with all endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, esophagogastroduodenoscopies (EGD), ERCP, flexiblesigmoidoscopiesand EUS.In thisrole, you will ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of all endoscopes and completion of all documentation logs and records. You will alsoassistthe RN with patient care, including the admission of patients, setting up rooms, transporting patients, patientrecoveryand the final cleaning of rooms.This opportunity will help you gainextensive experience with advanced procedures within an elite healthcare organization.

A caregiver in this positionworksdaysfrom6:30AM – 5:00PM.


A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Assistnurses and physicians in all aspects of GI procedures (e.g.,assistancewith the stocking of all rooms with equipment and supplies andmaintainingproper procedures for the cleaning and storage of endoscopes).

  • Changechemicalsterilantandcleanscope washer according to policy.

  • Assess endoscopes daily and report any damage tothe director.

  • Prepare andsendout scopes for repair after notifyingdirector.

  • Assistin the orientation of new personnel to all in room procedures and to the process for cleaning and disinfection of scopes.

  • Perform clerical duties if needed in the absence of the scheduler.

  • Transportspecimens according to policy using universal precautions.

  • Make pre-op calls topatientsto obtain preliminary information.

  • Identifyopportunities for cost savings andmakefull use of existing resources.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School or GED

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)CertificationthroughtheAmerican Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross

  • One year of experience in a hospital setting


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMT)

  • Advanced endoscopy experience (ERCP, EUS)
