A caregiver in this role supports Team 1 within the Oncology/Hematology Specialty Pharmacy, collaborating with pharmacists, nurses, pharmacy technicians, physicians, and payor partners to ensure timely access to specialty oncology medications and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include reviewing oncology medication orders, supporting oral chemotherapy and anticancer workflows, providing patient counseling and education, answering drug information questions, and conducting patient outreach and follow-up. This role offers strong clinical exposure within a specialized oncology-focused team, an emphasis on caregiver development, and the opportunity for remote work following initial onboarding.
This is a remote position after initial onboarding. A caregiver in this role will work rotating 8hr shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. No weekends requirements or major holidays. On-call expectations are expected.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
Verify medication orders and/or dispenses medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
Document services in a complete,accurateandtimelymanner.
Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
Directs staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care andmaintainprofessional working relationships with all caregivers.
Educate and train students, residents, othercaregiversand/or patients.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
PharmD orBachelor’sof Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within90 daysof hire
For individuals required to administer immunizations, Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire are required.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Board Certification
1-2 years of oncology pharmacy experience
Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred
Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area (i.e. Oncology)
Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
Must have normal or corrected vision.
Must have ability toclearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00
