We seek a scholar with a strong research program or demonstrated potential to develop one, focused on undergraduate mathematics education. We welcome candidates whose research advances understanding of undergraduate mathematics teaching and learning and is grounded in relevant educational theories and rigorous research methodologies.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish and sustain a productive research program, disseminate research through peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations, and actively pursue appropriate opportunities for external funding.

Teaching responsibilities will include two courses per semester, comprising undergraduate mathematics courses and graduate courses in mathematics education.

The Department has a long-standing commitment to Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education (RUME) and offers opportunities for doctoral study and research in this area. The successful candidate will be expected to mentor and direct doctoral students, contribute to the organization and leadership of the department’s RUME seminars, and play an active role in the intellectual development of the RUME program.

We are particularly interested in candidates whose scholarship complements or extends the research strengths of current faculty and brings new perspectives and directions to the department’s RUME program.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with mathematics education researchers and mathematicians within the Department, scholars across the University of Oklahoma, and beyond. We seek a colleague who will contribute to the continued growth and development of the department’s mathematics education program and enhance its national visibility.
