Job Summary:

As a member of La Follette's Student Services Team, the Academic Program Specialist will be responsible for completing a broad range of duties that involve assisting with department promotional events (Visit Day, Orientation sessions, and capstone presentations), serving as the department HelioCampus representative, managing academic program governance, conducting data management and report generation, providing undergraduate and graduate program support, assisting with student-related communications and engagement activities, and providing advising support as needed. We seek a responsible colleague who works well independently, collaborates well with the team.

Responsibilities:
Contributes to the development, implementation, administration, coordination, and evaluation for one or more academic programs to ensure effectiveness in meeting departmental and student development goals and initiatives. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
30% Utilizes independent judgement regarding development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation for one or more academic programs, initiatives, or events
20% Identifies program, needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews
20% Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
10% May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals.
5% Serves as a secondary point of contact for students and provides information about educational options and academic requirements.
5% Assists with identifying and assessing interests, skills, and values to match appropriate field of study/career options and refers students to appropriate institutional resources.
5% Maintains confidentiality and accurate student records and processes.
5% Responds to academic inquiries according to established institutional and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policies.

Education:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree
Focus in Student Affairs Administration, Higher Education, Student Leadership Development Education, or a related field.

Preferred:
Master's Degree in similar or related fields
