Position Description
Be part of the growing School of Music faculty at Georgia State University, an enterprising R-1 university in Atlanta. Our next Professor of Practice in Music Production & Audio Recording will play a vital role as the School of Music furthers Georgia State’s strategic goal of demonstrating that students from all backgrounds can achieve academic and career success at high rates. Opportunities for growth and support in this position include university-level teaching fellowships and grants through the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning & Online Education, as well as leadership in instructional innovation through our active learning classroom program.

Responsibilities
1. The selected candidate will provide instruction and collaboration in the concentration of Music Production & Audio Recording within the Bachelor of Science in Music Industry.
2. Teach undergraduate courses in Music Production, Audio Recording, Audio Post and related areas.
3. Oversee and manage recording studio spaces.
4. Participate in service at the school, college, and/or university levels.
5. Work closely with the faculty in Music Management and Music Production & Audio Recording in contributions to elevate the Music Industry Area within the School of Music.



Required Experience
Rich base of experience (at least 10 years) in at least one of the following: commercial music company, recording studio, publishing company, post-production facility, or experience as a working artist or producer in the field.
Required Education
Graduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Demonstrable record of success in the areas of sound and music production, audio recording, live · sound reinforcement, and audio post-production.
Technical and working knowledge of the leading professional digital audio workstations such as Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton and industry-standard plugins and software.
Knowledge and understanding of recording environments, workflows, and management of client expectations and deliverables.
Successful teaching experience at the collegiate level.
