Position Description:

The University of Louisville Athletic Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Seasonal Instructional Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Program for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Seasonal Instructional Coach will provide sport specific instruction/coaching on an individual and/or team basis. This position may assist coaches and/or athletics personnel with on campus or local recruiting. The Seasonal Instructional Coach will report to the Head Coach for Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive or his/her designee. This is a temporary salaried position earning $1,200 per month with an end date of May 31, 2024.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide on deck instruction to student athletes.
  • Organize workout data entry for student athletes (e.g., power rack workouts).
  • Submit electronic meet entries for college meets and USA swimming competitions.
  • Organize and order equipment for team.
  • Participate in all staff discussions with departmental personnel.
  • Assist in identifying prospects/recruits who fit the needs of the program.
  • Assist Coaches and/or athletics personnel with on campus or local recruiting for prospective student athletes including but not limited to assisting with creating itinerary for visit to the University of Louisville, accompanying recruits on campus tours, and attending sporting events or meals with recruits.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive or his/her designee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration or a related field.  
  • Up to one (1) year of related work experience within a collegiate, club or professional sports setting.
