The Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University invites applications for up to three full-time, 9-month, Lecturers in Business for our new Online Bachelor in Business Administration in General Business. The Lecturer will be appointed in one of our college areas (Management, Finance, Marketing, ISQS, Accounting or Energy Commerce).

About the College

The Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited and houses the School of Accounting that holds separate AACSB accreditation. The college offers the BBA degree with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, management, marketing, and supply chain management. Several formats of the MBA program are offered in fulltime, weekend, and online modalities in Lubbock, the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Houston, and San Antonio. The College offers MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research and analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing. With a faculty of over 140 and a staff that exceeds 80, the college enrolls over 5,000 undergraduate and 800 graduate students.

About the Department/School/Area

The Rawls College of Business Online BBA in General Business is designed for non-traditional students through an asynchronous online learning delivery. We are keen on candidates with a background in asynchronous teaching methods and/or experience working with non-traditional students including adult learners and working professionals among others. The chosen faculty will serve as a full-time, non-tenure track Lectures within one of the college areas Management, Finance, Marketing, ISQS, Accounting or Business Economics and Business Law.

Major/Essential Functions

At Texas Tech University, the Lecturer title designates a full-time, non-tenure-acquiring role with primary duties in teaching organized classes and/or instructional labs.

Faculty Qualifications

In line with TTU’s strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate level.
Master’s degree in business or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience teaching business undergraduate programs.
Demonstrated experience teaching in an asynchronous online format.
Evidence of understanding of online best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
Be able to relocate to Lubbock.
Enthusiastic about online teaching and its benefits.
Experience in asynchronous course design.
Experience in programs that target adult learners and/or working professionals.
While we prefer candidates who can engage on-campus, remote candidates will be considered, provided they can commit to regular travel to campus.
