Summary:
The faculty position is in the College of Education, Humanities, and Behavioral Sciences in the Department of Visual Performing and Communications Arts, Music Program. The rank and tenure-status of this position is negotiable based on qualifications. The position begins August 1, 2024.

Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach graduate and undergraduate courses including applied music and related method/technique classes to music majors and minors.
Teach Music Appreciation, and other courses depending on the needs of the program
Provide positive team-oriented interaction with colleagues regarding curriculum and program decisions and model energetic and professional demeanor to students.
Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
Serve on Department, College, and University Committees.
Research, proposals with external funding, and scholarly publications in juried music journals or related areas, along with professional service to the university, community, and profession.
Typical Qualifications

Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):


Terminal degree in Music or equivalent from an accredited university
Experience in teaching at the collegiate level
Record of concert/recital performances
Current Memberships in professional music organizations
Extensive knowledge of music education

Supplemental Information
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Experience teaching music production, composition, and composing/ arranging
Experience with music technology and software
Excellent communication skills, oral and written
Ability to motivate talented majors
Ability to contribute to academic program development
Production of articles in scholarly juried journals
