JOB SUMMARY:
Directs, plans, develops and implements the overall look and style of assigned projects. Insures projects meet budget requirements and comply with marketing & brand guidelines. Execute creation of assets for print publications, direct mail, digital, web & social. Directs and/or advises other designers, programmers, photographers, videographers on visual execution of concept. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Publication Design: Serves as lead designer for Clemson World for print, digital, social media, web and other media as needed using a variety of software applications. Collaborates with Creative Director and design team members to produce the magazine features, departments, and final layout of the magazine. Coordinates with other Clemson World staff to develop needed assets: copy; illustrations; photography; and video.

35% - Essential - Creative Design / Art Direction: Designs and directs projects using a variety of software applications for print and digital to create a strong visual presentation that communicates the needs of the client and audience, supports the Clemson brand and promotes the institution. Supports on admissions portfolio of marketing material. Coordinates and art directs alongside photo and video teams on shoots as needed. Advises other designers, programmers, photographers, videographers on visual execution of concepts.

10% - Essential - Production: Executes production task using a variety of hardware and software from conception to completion. Writes specifications for production as needed. Prepares files for production and checks vendors pre-production proofs. Assembles motion graphic animations, digital, social media, web and other media assets as needed. Prepares and tests digital assets for web use as needed to ensure files display properly and meet compliance and compatibility standards.

10% - Essential - Project Management: Monitors magazine and assigned projects through all phases of development and production and suggests changes or improvements as needed in order to adhere to time and budget constraints before final production. Documents progress of assigned tasks in project management tracking systems, launches and manages proof approval workflows to traffic designs internally.

5% - Essential - Pitching/Presenting/Professional Development: Interfaces with the client or colleagues to present work, offer background and explanation of the concept and advise on possible executions. Takes client/colleague feedback. Engages in development opportunities leading to personal development, professional growth and innovation in related technologies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree - In graphic arts or art and work experience in graphic arts for print media publications.
Work Experience: 3+ years

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range: $ 45,530.00 - $ 58,100.00
