Job Description

We are looking to hire a staff member to assist our Forum and Conference Service team.

Job Description/Duties

  • Open the Forum building and rooms for events, including setting up chairs and tables.
  • Checking room setups and client needs before and during events.
  • Make beverages and put out supplies and catering items.
  • Clean and restock serving supplies.
  • Provide customer service to clients, including troubleshooting AV equipment issues, completing any last-minute client requests.
  • Tech support for audio visual equipment as needed by clients.
  • Cleaning, sweeping, mopping back room and spills, and taking out trash/boxes after events.
  • Monitoring safety and maintenance needs within the building.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma (GED)

Skills:

  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods
  • Ability to lift objects (15-50 lbs.) including using the upper body to raise objects from a lower position to a higher position
  • Ability to crouch, crawl, bend, or stoop
  • Ability to walk and be on feet for extended periods of time and go up and down stairs/ladder
  • Ability to speak including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others
  • Ability to see color, depth perception, and clarity
  • Regular exposure to disagreeable conditions at time with extreme temperature changes, odors, and loud noises

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Food handler’s permit must be acquired within 5 days of employment.
