The School of Public Health at Augusta University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (.75 FTE), Non-Tenure Track faculty position in the Department of Health Management, Economics, and Policy. This part-time appointment is anticipated to run from November 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The successful candidate will contribute to the School's teaching, research, and service missions, with a focus on artificial intelligence applications in public health.

Responsibilities

 

Teaching - 27%
Develop and teach a graduate level course (special topics) on AI for
Public Health.
Scholarship - 66%
Collaborate with School of Public Health faculty to develop and submit at
least three grant proposals.
Prepare and submit at least one manuscript for publication.
Participate in one or more funded research projects as opportunities arise.
Service - 7%
Serve on department and School committees.

Required Qualifications

 

Educational Requirements
Earned doctorate in Public Health or a related field.
Other Required Qualifications
Expertise in quantitative methods. Interest and/or expertise in Artificial Intelligence.

Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

 

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.  Amount of time worked is based on work commitment.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is between 0.75 and 0.99 FTE.  The FTE will be determined at the time of hire after discussions during the interview process with the successful candidate.  Although this position is fully benefits eligible and can select from the robust University System of Georgia (USG) benefits package, this position is not considered full-time. Only positions at 1.0 FTE are considered full-time.
